Professional football hall of fame - System and Procedures: Like Hollywood's hall of fame, Professional football hall of fame is open to the public so fans can come around to honour the inductees. Canton, Ohio, which is place where American Professional Football Association or the NFL (renamed today) was first founded; is the place where fans of football and the orgnanisation of NFL can go and honour the inductees in the football hall of fame.

With a little background about the Professional hall of fame, it was first established on September 7, 1963 with seventeen inductees. Billy Shaw was the first and only inductee who had never played football professionally, but had an entire career devoted to the American Football League. Here is how the procedure works. There is a Board of Selectors whose job is to select the suitable inductee but however, do not have the power or duty to nominate one. This is a 39-member board of sportswriters.

On the other hand, a Senior Committee has the power to nominate a player, coach or a team executive. A player can only be nominated if he's retired for at least 5 years. A coach can be nominated if he's simply retired. A team executive can be nominated both during retirement or rein. The committee has a total of 9 members and is able to nominate only 3-6 candidates. A candidate can only be nominated if he's supported by at least 80% of the board. The selected candidates as inductees are no more part of the team, sculpted to no reference to the team but is rather known as an individual professional.

Being inducted into the Professional hall of fame is no doubt glorious and honouring for the players, coaches or executives. How more successful can you be if you were known as a legend in the career you're a part of?
